Piano students develop a lifelong skill that gives you a sense of accomplishment - something beneficial for areas of your life. Studies show that adults who play are happier and healthier. Playing for a few minutes a day can reduce stress & is actually more beneficial for relaxing than watching TV or reading the paper! Playing piano is something that can be enjoyed throughout an entire lifetime - and can be started at any point in life with great success.
Also, studies show at The University of California, Irvine found that preschoolers receiving piano lessons scored 34% higher on spatial-temporal reasoning testing than those students who did not receive lessons. In addition to that, College-bound senior students with music experience scored 98 points higher than those without arts instruction! After learning about whole notes, half, quarter & eigth notes, students scored 100% higher than students taught traditionally.
